4 Ingredient Maple Ice Cream

This 4 ingredient, wholesome ice cream is a treat you can indulge in and feel good about. Pure maple syrup has some surprising nutritional benefits that make it a better sweetening agent than refined sugar.

Pure maple syrup contains antioxidants, beneficial trace vitamins and minerals, does not spike blood sugar levels as dramatically as refined sugars, and can even support gut health. I have a major sweet tooth, so I like to use honey or maple syrup when I can.

When I make this ice cream, I often use milk, heavy cream, and maple syrup sourced from Pennsylvania farms! It feels so good having a sweet treat knowing I supported local farmers.

Ingredients

  • 1 ¾ cup heavy cream

  • 1 ½ cup whole milk

  • ¾ cup pure maple syrup 

  • Pinch of salt

Directions

  1. In a chilled bowl, whisk together cream, milk, maple syrup, and salt.

  2. Pour into an ice cream maker and churn as directed by the manufacturer. I use a KitchenAid Ice Cream Maker Attachment, and I like to churn mine for 30 minutes.

  3. Enjoy some immediately or place in the freezer in an airtight container to enjoy later with a more hard serve ice cream texture!
